Every chieftain that came before
saw the sun burst for the last time
and every soldier that went to war
once bore witness to a fading sky.

The living know death better than the dead
yet what lies beyond the lifeless eyes?

we all lie helpless to the tides of life
it pushes and pulls us to our final bedside
so hold my hand and share with me
this life we live so fleetingly
